Koalas Volleyball Host Reinhardt in Home Opener

Columbia, SC -- The Columbia College women's volleyball team will host Reinhardt, Saturday, Sept. 10 in its 2022 home opener. It will also be the Appalachian Athletic Conference opener. First serve is 1 p.m. and will be preceded by the junior varsity match at 11 am.

The koalas will be looking for their first win of the season after dropping its first five contests on the road.

In its last outing, Columbia College fell to NCAA DII foe Claflin University 3-0, 25-23, 25-15, 25-11.

Junior Nya Grey put down eight kills with one block assist to pace the Koalas. 

Red-shirt freshman Kyndal Bosier had five kills and five digs, and Leticia Assen put up 10 assists in the contest.

On the season, Grey leads the team in kills and blocks with 35 and five, respectively.

Freshmen Leticia Assen and Maia Brown, who share the setting duties, have 42, and 34 set assists, respectively.  

The Koalas have four players with over twenty digs, led by sophomore Amiri Mason with 38. Kristin Wemes has 30, Brown has 28, and Jada Gentry has 26 on the season.

Columbia College will begin a four-game road trip starting next Tuesday, Sept. 13, when they travel to Saint Andrews.
