Women XC Finish 4th at CSU Open
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Columbia College women's cross country team competed in the season opening CSU Buccaneer 5K Open on Friday in Charleston finishing in 4th place out of five schools and second among NAIA schools.
The Lady Koalas were led by senior Juliana Gonzalez as she finished 13th overall out of 38 in 20:36 in the 3.2 mile race. Freshman Annsley Howle then came next for CC placing 17th overall in 20:51 while sophomore Avarose Buccino was 22nd overall and 3rd on the Koalas in 21:23.
Finishing 4th on CC and 25th overall was senior Jennyfer Vigueras in 21:50 while freshman Aja Rushing completed the scoring coming in 26th overall in 22:05. Also competing for Columbia were freshmen Alissa McCann and Ellie Fisher placing 29th and 31st overall. McCann ran a time of 23:16 while Fisher came across in 24:35.
Div. I Charleston Southern won the meet followed by 8th ranked SCAD-Savannah, Div. I The Citadel, Columbia, and SC State.
