Lady Koalas Dominate Peace University 4-0

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Columbia College women's soccer team rolled to a dominating 4-0 road win over NCAA Div. III foe, William Peace University in Raleigh Wednesday afternoon.

The Koalas received goals from four different women as sophomore midfielder Madison Wells Bunting and senior defender Kimia Hughey notched first half goals while junior midfielder Kinzly Cohen and freshman midfielder Elise Mayfield scored in the second half. Mayfield assisted on both first half goals while CC outshot the Pacers 11-1 in the half. Bunting scored in the 12th minute while Hughey recorded hers in the 39th.

In the second half, the Koalas added a goal from Cohen in the 52nd minute off an assist from junior midfielder Kendyl Moore before adding their 4th goal in the 73rd minute when Mayfield scored on an assist from freshman midfielder Gracelyn Edwards.

Columbia outshot the Pacers 7-2 in the second half while junior keeper Teagan Eisenring made one save on the only shot on goal.

The Lady Koalas improve to 2-0-1 on the season and will next enter conference play when they host Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday at 11 AM.
