Basketball Drops Season Opener

The Columbia College basketball team opened the season with a 58-75 defeat Thursday night at Voorhees College.

First year head coach, Stephen Burns, and the Koalas' basketball team traveled to nearby Voorhees College for the first game of the season.  The Koalas were outscored 38-19 in the first half and could not overcome the deficit in the second half.  Columbia College struggled to maintain possession as they turned the ball over 35 times.

Sophomore Merrissa Witherspoon led the Koalas with an efficient 17 points and 7 rebounds on 6 for 12 from the field, including 3 of 3 from the 3-point line.  Columbia College next plays at Allen University November 4, at 7PM.
