Koalas Fall to Reinhardt
The Columbia College basketball team dropped a hard fought, high scoring game to Reinhardt College Thursday night in the Lucille Godbold Center. SEE VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS
Both teams came out shooting well and Columbia College jumped to an early 21-12 lead. Reinhardt pulled even at 27-27 with 7:00 minutes left in the half and then pulled away for a 45-39 lead at the half. The visiting Lady Eagles stretched the lead to 17 points in the second half and held on for a 85-72 defeat of the Koalas . Karina Gass led the way for Reinhardt, scoring 32 points and making 7 three-point shots.
For Columbia College, freshman Najee Thompson scored a career high 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting and getting to the free-throw line a game high 10 times. Laporcha Williams and Kiara Fefie also added 15 and 14 points respectively.
The Koalas will turn around and host the #9 ranked team in the nation, Lee University, Saturday at 2:00 pm.
