Koalas Fall to Emmanuel College

Columbia College dropped to visiting Emmanuel College 82-60 in front of a loud home crowd Saturday.

The Koalas hoped to celebrate family day with a victory, but fell short in the second half against a strong Emmanuel College.  The first half was close as the Koalas closed to a 37-31 deficit, shooting 52 percent from the field.  However, it was the three-point shooting of Emmanuel that proved to be the Koalas' achilles' heel. The Lady Lions scored 30 points from the three-point line on 10 of 15 shooting.  Turnovers were once again a problem for the Koalas as they were outshot by 20 attempts in the second half.

Laporcha Williams recorded a team high 18 points and 3 assists in the loss on 6 of 11 shooting.  The Koalas are now off for Christmas break, but will return to action at home on January 8, against Shorter College at 6:30 pm.
