Basketball Picks Up Mercedes Litchfield

COLUMBIA, S.C.- Head Coach Maria Audas joined by Athletic Director, Kelly Cox welcomed newcomer Mercedes Litchfield today during her official signing at Columbia College's campus.

Litchfield joins the 2011-2012 basketball program as a transfer from Denmark Tech. Prior to signing with the Fighting Koalas Litchfield started on Timberland Highschool's women's basketball team before transferring to finish her high school career at Dreer High School here in South Carolina.

Coming into Columbia College as a sophomore, Litchfield plans on majoring in Psychology and is already making an impact within the Fighting Koalas basketball program.

Head Coach Maria Audas commented, " Mercedes brings experience, leadership, and a strong court awareness to our program. I expect Mercedes to be very successful as an experienced player to a very young team.

Catch the Fighting Koalas back in action at home this Wedensday against AAC opponent Reinhardt University - tip off at 5:30 p.m.
