Basketball Signs Ritzy Griffin
AUGUSTA, GA - Columbia College basketball added the first member of the 2012-13 recruiting class last week. Ritzy Griffin signed with the Fighting Koalas Thursday afternoon at Westside High School in Augusta, Georgia. Griffin is leading a successful squad at Westside that is expected to make a deep playoff run and contend for a title. The team currently stands at 12-3 and maintains an up-tempo pace with strong post play from Griffin inside.
Griffin transferred to Westside from Curtis Baptist and will finish her high school under Coach Hugee, who has seen a number of athlete moves on to play collegiate ball both in Georgia and South Carolina. “Griffin brings with her both a developed understanding of the game as well as natural athleticism that will blend nicely with our current roster,” said Columbia College head coach Maria Audas. “We are thrilled to have her join us and look forward to her being a key piece in our building process.”
The Fighting Koalas will play their last 3 home games in the month of February and celebrate Senior Night on Wedensday, February 15th against Milligan.
