Columbia Can't Hold On

COLUMBIA,S.C.- The Fighting Koala's basketball team struggled tonight against the Lady Cobras of Virginia Intermont. Columbia coming off of winter break looked strong in the first half scoring 35 points and had the lead going into the half.

Cobra's standout Toenika Webb led the Virginia Intermont offense with 15 points on the night giving the Cobra's the lead in the second half. Columbia battled back in the end of the second half with an amazing performance from newcomer Kenee Green who was 8 for 13 from behind the arc totaling 26 points on the night. Columbia couldn't close the gap and Virginia Intermont went on the win 78-76.

The loss moves Columbia to 0-3 in the AAC conference and 4-10 overall. The Fighting Koalas will be back at home January 11th against the Lady Eagles of Reinhardt University at 5:30 p.m. in the Godbold Center.
