Columbia College to Add Golf in 2012

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia College athletic department has announced the addition of a golf team for the 2012-13 academic year.  The NAIA currently has 145 institutions sponsoring women’s golf.

The Fighting Koalas will join five other schools currently sponsoring women’s golf in the Appalachian Athletic Conference:  Milligan, Reinhardt, Montreat, Union, and Tennessee Wesleyan.  Tennessee Wesleyan won the 2011 conference tournament and represented the AAC at the national tournament.  Golf competes in fall and spring tournaments, with qualifying tournaments and the national tournament held in late spring.
