Columbia Soccer Dominates Bryan

DAYTON, TN - The Fighting Koalas picked up their 3rd conference win this past Saturday as they defeated the Lady Lions of Bryan College 4-1 in AAC play.

Columbia looked strong offensively the entire 90:00 minutes, lead by junior Jessica Martinez. Martinez added 2 goals and 2 assists to her already impressive resume for the 2012 season. The Fighting Koalas out shot Bryan 21-5 as Clare Williamson knocked in her 3rd goal of the season within the starting minutes of the second half. Senior captain, Emily Harris finished off Bryan with another assist from Martinez shortly after Williamson taking the score to 4-0, before Bryan capitalized offensively around the 80th minute of the match to avoid the shut out.

The win takes The Fighting Koalas to an overall record of 8-5-1. The last stretch of the season will see Columbia on the road facing mainly conference opponents. Their last home match is against Anderson on Wednesday, October 17th with all the action starting at 7:00 p.m.
