Columbia Soccer Comes Up Short Against Union

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Fighting Koalas soccer program split on the week grabbing the programs 7th win against the Lady Eagles of Reinhardt College winning 3-1. While on the road this weekend, Columbia dropped to the Union College Lady Bulldogs 1-0.

Saturday's match up against Union saw the Lady Bulldogs get out to a very early lead in the first 7 minutes of the match as Helen Weber put in a nice goal from a cross by Sofie Jorgensen. Union continued to give Columbia trouble as they out shot the Fighting Koalas 20-5. The loss is the first for Columbia in the AAC and pushes their overall record to 7-3-1 with a conference record of 2-1-1.

The Fighting Koalas look ahead to face newcomers St. Andrews another AAC match up this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Younts Soccer Stadium.
