Soccer defeats Peace 6-0
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Fighting Koala soccer team defeated William Peace College 6-0 last night with a dominating offensive performance. The win last night pushes Columbia to an overall record of 9-5-1 and makes them round the corner into the final weeks of their 2012-13 season.
The offense was sparked by none other than junior forward, Jessica Martinez as she grabbed three goals. Martinez has already tallied 15 goals this season and is looking to hit 20 before the conference tournament in late October, early November.
The assists for Columbia came from the midfield duo of Clare Williamson and senior, Heather Moore. Moore added to the Fighting Koalas offense by scoring two goals on the night. Rounding out CC's offense is freshman, Alexa Zolman. Zolman recorded her second goal on her first season with Columbia.
Columbia has three games left, two of which are crucial conference matches against the Milligan Lady Buffs and the Lady Cobras of Virginia Intermont.
