Volleyball Opens Season on a Winning Note

The Fighting Koalas have opened the volleyball season with a 3-2 record.  The volleyball team is 2-0 while playing in the Godbold Center, defeating Allen University and Morris College in three sets.

The Koalas have been strong at home in the early going, posting three set victories over Allen University 25-8, 25-7, 25-8, and Morris College 25-12, 25-19, 25-9.  The Koalas returned from Methodist College with a 1-2 record, dropping two matches to host Methodist College.  The lone victory came in an exciting five set victory against Messiah College 27-25, 17-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-8.  The weekend showed inexperience as the team struggled to overcome a large number of hitting errors. 

The Volleyball team heads to Brevard College on Saturday to play Virginia Intermont College, Coker College, and host Brevard College.
