Volleyball Releases 2008 Schedule

Columbia College has released the 2008 volleyball schedule, which includes thirteen home matches to be held in the Lucille Godbold Center.

The Fighting Koalas will play a total of thirty-three regular season matches and sixteen conference matches.  The SSAC cancelled its volleyball divisions beginning this season, as a result the Koalas will play home and away matches with all conference schools.

Fifteen players will report for preseason on Wednesday, August 13.  Less than two weeks later, they open the season against cross town Allen University on Tuesday, August 26.  The team welcomes seven freshman and eight new players from last year's squad, all the while returning four starters from the 07-08 season.

The first game to be hosted in the Lucille Godbold Center will take place against Morris College on Tuesday, September 3 at 6 PM.  The schedule highlights two tournaments and five matches against NCAA Division II schools.  The Koalas will aim to finish strong at the SSAC tournament November 12-15, which is being hosted by Berry College in Rome, GA.
