Volleyball Splits at Home

The Fighting Koalas' volleyball team split this weekend in conference play.  Friday night Columbia College came away with a five set victory over Shorter College, but dropped to Faulkner University in three sets on Saturday. 

Friday night the Koalas came out with an exciting five set victory 26-24, 19-25, 32-30, 25-22, 15-5.  The win was the first victory over the Lady Hawks since the 2005 season.  Freshman Ashley Hasty led the Koalas on the match with 15 kills, while Lauren Bach and Janelle Fetui added 12 kills a piece.

Saturday saw a different story as the Koalas could not reproduce Friday's effort in a three set loss to Faulkner University 23-25, 17-25, 22-25.  The Koalas had leads late in the first and third set, but could not hold off the charging Eagles.

After the weekend the Koalas are 10-6 on the season and 2-3 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
