Anderson Named to AVCA All-Northeast Region First Team

LEXINGTON, KY- Columbia's Jacqui Anderson was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Northeast Region First Team, the organization announced Wednesday. Anderson a sophomore from Brea, CA led her team to 25 wins during the 2011 season.

The Fighting Koalas setter had a strong year being named to the AAC all conference first team as well as being honored as the Setter of the Year. Anderson was named 3 time setter of the week for the AAC and averaged 10.7 assists per set this season. Anderson was individual ranked no. 14 in the nation in Division I assists per game and hit over a 1000 assists in her sophomore year.

The AAC players making the first team are: Kendra Fiddler of Milligian (Tenn.), Brandi Blessing from Virginia Intermont, Lauren McMillan of Union (Ky.), and Natalies Nieman of Montreat (N.C.). Two others from the conference received honorable mentions. Those honorees are Karina Ramos of Union and Chelsea Blackburn of Bryan (Tenn.).
