Sellers Picks Up Hitter of the Week
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced Taylor Sellers as Hitter of the week on Monday October, 17th. Columbia went 2-0 on the week with wins against old SSAC rival Brenau University and College of Coastal Georgia.
Sellers who had an impressive week hit .500 in 2 sets against Brenau University and had an outstanding game against Coastal Georgia where she tallied 17 kills, 1 error, on 26 attempts. The Fighting Koalas came back in a 4 set match against the Mariners with Sellers contributing to 9 total blocks with 1 solo and 1 block assist and continues to lead Columbia in kills per set.
The Fighting Koalas move to 19-7 overall and are fourth in the AAC conference with a record of 7-4. Columbia finishes their home stretch for 2011 season this week with games against Morris, Bryan, and Virginia Intermont.
