The Fighting Koalas get 7th Conference win

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Fighting Koalas volleyball team bounced back and took down the Lady Eagles of Reinhardt today winning in three straight sets: 25-12, 25-12, and 25-20. The win pushes Columbia to 7-4 in the AAC and 15-9 overall.

The standout player of the match was Junior, Aarika Munro who tallied 11kills, 3 errors, on 20 attempts hitting .400 from the outside. Munro had an all around great match with 11 digs and added 3 aces to Columbia’s 10 on the day. Setter Jacqui Anderson tallied 30 assists on the match as she led her offense to a hitting percentage of .341 on the day.

A collaborative team performance and a conference win had Assistant Katie Welsh excited about her team’s level of play, “I’m proud of our team pulling together to win today’s match. Our games never go without effort and now our ladies are executing at a high level going into the last stretch of the season”.

The Fighting Koalas look ahead to play two regular season games next week against old SSAC rival The Breanu University Golden Tigers and travel to University of Coastal Georgia later in the week.
