Volleyball Finishes 11-5 and Preps for AAC Tournament

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Fighting Koalas' volleyball finished the regular season with a 3-0 win on Friday night against AAC Conference member Tennessee Wesleyan. The win pushes Columbia to finish 11-5 in the conference and 23-10 overall.

The Fighting Koalas looked strong on Friday night with a confident performance from freshman Caitlin Brickley. Brickley tallied 8 kills, 1 error, on 14 attempts hitting .500. Sophomore setter Jacqui Anderson continues to lead the AAC conference in assists per set and finished Friday's match with 30.

As conference play wraps up this weekend Columbia will finish fourth behind Union(14-2), Bryan(13-3), and Montreat(13-3). The Fighting Koalas will face the Lady Buffs of Milligan College(9-7) next week in the opening round of the conference tournament.

Assistant Katie Welsh commented about the season,"We are playing at a high level and are focused for the first round of the tournament which is next week. I'm proud of the season and finishing 11-5 in conference play."
